What does a subsea rov pilot technician do?
ROV pilot technicians combine vehicle control with electrical, hydraulic and mechanical maintenance. The work supports offshore energy, subsea inspection, research and marine projects.
Typical responsibilities
- Pilot the vehicle using cameras and sonar
- Operate manipulators and survey tools
- Complete pre-dive and post-dive checks
- Diagnose electrical, hydraulic or mechanical faults
- Work closely with supervisors, engineers and deck crews
