Replace duties with evidence
A duty says what the job required. Evidence says what you personally handled and what happened as a result.
- Weak: Responsible for workshop equipment
- Stronger: Operated and maintained workshop equipment across busy shifts, diagnosing faults before they delayed customer work
- Weak: Helped customers
- Stronger: Explained technical options clearly, confirmed decisions and recorded work accurately
Name the remote-working skill inside the practical task
Fault-finding becomes structured diagnosis. Shift handover becomes written communication. Working alone becomes independent judgement. Following safety procedures becomes reliable risk control.

- Learning unfamiliar equipment
Use numbers honestly
Numbers make evidence easier to understand, but only use figures you can defend. Consider turnaround time, work volume, team size, repeat faults reduced, customer satisfaction or money saved.
Keep the CV easy to scan
Use a clear profile, recent work history, key skills and relevant qualifications. Put the strongest evidence near the top and remove vague claims such as hard-working unless an example proves them.
